From the President's greeting
As Professor Medical Oncologist and President of ELEMMEL Mr. Dimitrios Bafaloukos, commented in his Greeting, following the revolution of Melanoma treatments during the decade 2010-2020, the developments continue, both in the diagnosis and treatment of Melanoma, but also with other skin tumors, such as squamous cell and basal cell carcinoma of the skin. Greek Scientists win international distinctions in research, which is a "sign of treatment"!
New treatments and advances in the diagnosis of Melanoma
The Congress was of a high standard, with the participation of excellent doctors and the presentation and analysis of modern developments and achievements in the treatment of Melanoma. Distinguished scientists presented the epidemiology and prevention of Skin Cancer, the diagnosis of Melanoma, appropriate imaging techniques for diagnosis and follow-up, surgical treatment and recovery, dermoscopy, current issues, toxicity of immunotherapy and targeted therapies, and the management of skin cancer in special categories of patients.

The 'voice' of volunteers and patients were presented in a main session.
The Melanoma Guidelines Session was presented at the end of the program.
Professor Ourania Nicolatou-Galitis, Scientific Responsible of CureCancer - mycancer.gr, had the honor to present the melanoma of the mouth and the role of the Dentist in the recognition and early diagnosis of Melanoma in the oral cavity and supportive care during treatment.
The "properly trained" Dentist will assess the patient (a) before treatment begins, (b) care for the patient during treatment, and (c) follow up after treatment.
The dentist will help maintain oral health and diagnose early any problems and complications of treatment, such as infections and other toxicities.
