Are you a cancer survivor? Don’t sit on the couch, run!

The combination of a sedentary lifestyle with the lack of physical activity and exercise seems to affect survival after cancer! A study of 1535 people, who survived cancer showed that a sedentary lifestyle, of more than 8 hours a day, and a lack of adequate exercise are associated with an increased risk of death from any cause but also from cancer as compared to those who sat for less than 4 hours.

The sample of 1,535 people was representative of cancer survivors in the United States. They were followed up to 9 years before the data was evaluated.
